The Associate Communications Specialist develops and executes internal employee communications for various functions across the business and supports live meetings, events, and other employee facing communications deliverables as needed. Focus will be on creating and developing communications plans, tactics and assets to use across our channels including the intranet, mobile app, email platforms, digital signage and more.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Advise and consult business partners on communications needs.

  • Activates and oversees multi-channel messaging strategies and global executive communications designed to advance business needs and keep associates at all levels of the company informed and engaged.

  • Activates corporate employee storytelling to drive awareness, engagement and optimism.

  • Influences and supports internal communications that brings to life the culture of MillerKnoll in order to attract, retain and inspire employees in all locations.

  • Assists with global issues and crisis communications plans.

  • Partners with broader internal communications team to develop, plan, and execute global leadership meetings.

  • Partners with internal and external communications team members to build content calendars, manage workflows, and track metrics.

  • Proofread and review messaging for grammar and brand voice accuracy.

  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, business administration, or related field.

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in corporate, employee, or marketing communications.

  • Previous experience in graphic design, digital platforms, and AI preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong writing, proofing, editing, and word processing skills.

  • Skilled in managing a wide range of activities and multiple projects within expected deadlines.

  • Ability to effectively use office automation and communication software and tools currently used in the MillerKnoll office environment, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Office 365.

  • Experience with Unily Intranet platform, Co-pilot/ChatGPT, Microsoft SharePoint, Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign preferred.

  • Proven ability to navigate challenging situations and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Self-directed, highly motivated, creative and attentive to detail.
