Position Overview
Apollo has significantly grown its Citizenship initiatives since their launch in 2020. The programs aim to foster, develop and increase the firm’s impact on our communities, by offering philanthropic, volunteer, and other forms of engagement programs to strengthen communities and amplify global impact.
Launched in 2022, the Apollo Opportunity Foundation (the “Foundation”) expands opportunity for historically underrepresented groups in our communities through philanthropic investments in career education, workforce development, and economic empowerment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Apollo Global Management is seeking a full-time Program Associate to support efforts across Citizenship and the Apollo Opportunity Foundation across Apollo’s United Kingdom and Europe (“EMEA”) and Asia-Pacific (“APAC”) offices. This position will report to the Global Head of Citizenship. There are a variety of projects and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
Citizenship:
Manage global Citizenship Apollo Communities Together (“ACT”) program in EMEA and APAC, creating in-person and virtual employee engagement opportunities including event ideation, coordination, communications, and execution across issue areas and regions; collaborate closely with all regional ACT Teams to motivate all employees to give back to local communities via volunteerism, board service, and more activities.
Build and update content on Benevity software, including volunteer event sign-up pages, unique giving opportunities (ex: disaster relief), and news stories relevant to the regions.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with non-profit partners across EMEA and APAC regions to offer a range of engagement opportunities for the employee base.
Draft internal and external communications, including but not limited to memos, articles, talking points, and press releases.
Perform ad hoc research and contribute to projects to drive the overall success of Citizenship.
Foundation:
Support Apollo Opportunity Foundation grant nomination and application process, reviewing documents for completeness and adherence to Foundation standards, tracking deliverables and deadlines.
Serve as liaison for EMEA and APAC grantees (currently six organizations), including managing reporting cycles and joining all AOF Deal Team meetings with each partner.
Draft grant memos for organizations under review including qualitative and quantitative analysis; assist in due diligence to support the AOF Grants Council in their investment process, considering program models, outcomes, revenue sources, cost-benefit, financial health, history, and leadership.
Analyze and synthesize regional dynamics and societal needs, performing research to understand topics including theory of change, competing strategies, model organizations, key trends, leadership, and funders.
Communicate AOF’s news, impact, and select case studies internally and externally; curate regional LinkedIn, website, and intranet content.
Operations:
Maintain databases for all information measurement - including but not limited to employee engagement tracking, financial analysis, and team and office participation rates – and ensure the information is shared with regional leadership and used to proactively enhance programs.
Qualifications & Experience
A minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in financial services, corporate foundation or Corporate Social Responsibility work.
Strong Microsoft Office skills with demonstrated mastery of PowerPoint and Excel.
Experience with Benevity preferred.
