Role Summary : 

Japan’s tourism economy is built on its world-class transportation infrastructure, with 80% of domestic travel powered by the railway network. As the leading OTA in the mobility space, Klook is the de facto strategic partner for Japan’s major transportation operators, thus uniquely positioned among global OTAs landscape. We don't just sell tickets; we provide the digital backbone for the nation's core travel arteries.

In this role, you will support the smooth operation of Japan’s transportation partnerships by assisting the Business Development team, enhancing product quality, and ensuring efficient cross-functional coordination. As you develop in the position, you will also have opportunities to manage long-tail accounts independently.
 

What you’ll do

  • Operational Support: Perform operational tasks to assist the Business Development (BD) team, including activities such as onboarding, content editing, and handling merchant inquiries, following established procedures. 
  • Sales Support: Assist sales team members in preparing proposals, presentations, and reports for merchants and senior management.
  • Coordination: Collaborate closely with various departments within the company, including marketing to maximize sales, supplier operations to enhance efficiency, customer service to drive satisfaction and repeat business, finance to ensure accurate payments and minimize risk, and legal to finalize the contracting.  Ensure all support to be processed with high efficiency and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Detailed-oriented work: Content proofreading, product page editing in terms of latest content, pricing, inventory, images to facilitate user’s purchase journey on our platform.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and optimize fundamental BD processes. 
  • Long-Tail Account Management : When he/she performs the above task efficiently, he/she has a room to independently manage and nurture a portfolio of long-tail transportation accounts, ensuring high partner satisfaction and identifying incremental growth opportunities.

What you’ll need

  • Experience: At least 3 years of work experience, with a preference for background in the travel tech industry.  Experience in Sales Operations, Supply Operations, or Project Management is an advantage. 
  • Language: Fluency in both Japanese and business level English.  
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to understand merchant/BD, and stakeholder requirements, gather product information, and manage client expectations. It involves being curious and using active listening to understand merchants. 
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage merchant portfolios, track sales activities, and ensure timely follow-ups. 
  • Data skills: Comfortable working with spreadsheets and internal management systems. Has a natural curiosity of working with data and systems.
  • Judgement: Ability to prioritize tasks based on their strategic importance and potential business impact.
