dunnhumby Norway AS is a joint venture between Coop Norge Handel AS and dunnhumby ltd. Based on the Customer First principle, we deliver customer insight and data-driven marketing for Coop and its suppliers. dunnhumby Norway has 35 employees in Norway and 15 employees in India.  

 

We are looking for an Associate Applied Data Scientist to join the Loyalty and Personalisation team who will work as a part of our Solutions Team. 

 

Your role: 

As a key member of our Loyalty and Personalisation team, you will dive deep into the world of data to design 1:1 customer personalization initiative that truly resonate. With a focus on Coop’s 1.7 million members, you will play a crucial role in developing Norway’s most engaging loyalty program. In close collaboration with our international team, your efforts will help shape the future of retail through groundbreaking loyalty and personalisation, CRM, and Retail Media initiatives. 

 

In this role you will collaborate across teams – Coop, dunnhumby commercial leads and data science team, translating complex analysis into clear recommendations, and ensuring insights are embedded into decision making. The role requires strong analytical thinking, technical savviness, clear communication, and a hands-on approach to partnership and delivery. 

 

At dunnhumby, you will work in a world-leading retail data science company with specialist expertise in customer data, category development, campaign and price, customer communications and media. You will experience being part of a large international network, but at the same time work closely with Coop in a dynamic environment with opportunities to experiment and learn. 

 

What we expect from you:

  • Have a strong academic background with a master's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent. 
  • Relevant experience preferably from retail, media agencies, consulting or the financial sector.
  • Excels at translating complex data sets into clear and actionable insights, with a keen ability to understand the business context and meet customer challenges through data-driven solutions.
  • While familiarity with Python, Spark or other SQL-based applications is an advantage, the main focus is on interpreting data and providing valuable recommendations to meet customer needs and support business objectives. 
  • Have a passion for customer data and are eager to use scientific approaches for data analysis to uncover new business opportunities. 
  • Is enthusiastic about working closely with customers to create meaningful change by linking analytical findings to real-world business problems. 
  • Is passionate about driving operational efficiencies through process automation and setting up dedicated project/process management initiatives. 
  • Is fluent and have good written skills in English. Norwegian language skills are beneficial.
