Role Overview
Apollo is seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to support critical portfolio management, trading, and risk analytics platforms used by investment professionals and risk teams.
This role sits within the Global Quantitative Analytics team and operates at the intersection of finance, analytics, and technology, requiring strong domain knowledge across fixed income and interest rate derivatives, solid analytical capability, and the ability to troubleshoot complex, business-critical systems in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will come from either a financial engineering background with working knowledge of Python or a computer engineering background with relevant financial industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
Provide production support for portfolio management, trading, and risk analytics systems, ensuring stability and timely issue resolution Investigate and resolve issues related to:
Deal capture, booking, and lifecycle events in security master and downstream systems
Pricing / valuation outputs
Portfolio analytics
Risk metrics (e.g., duration, DV01, scenario analysis, stress testing)
Perform detailed data analysis and reconciliation to validate outputs and identify discrepancies. Validate outputs across systems (e.g., pricing engines, risk platforms) Use Python (as needed) for data analysis, scripting, and light automation of support workflows . Coordinate with development teams to track issues, enhancements, and system releases
Support UAT, system upgrades, and production deployments
Qualifications & Experience
• 7–10 years of experience in application support, trading/portfolio systems support, or risk analytics support within financial services
• Prior experience working at an investment bank or asset management firm
• Strong experience with fixed income and interest rates derivatives (e.g., bonds, swaps, futures, options)
• Good understanding of risk and valuation concepts used in trading and portfolio management
• Working knowledge of Python (data analysis, basic scripting)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
Education / Background
Either of the following profiles:
Degree in Advanced Maths or Finance (or similar quantitative field) with working knowledge of Python Degree in Computer Engineering (or related field) with relevant experience in financial markets (fixed income / derivatives)
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with portfolio management and risk systems used in asset management
Experience with SQL and data querying
Exposure to pricing or risk models
