APAC Corporate Strategy and Development, Associate (APAC)
BlackRock’s Corporate Strategy and Development Group (CS&D) is responsible for supporting the firm in positioning BlackRock to generate robust, long-term growth and shareholder value creation.
The team works to formulate and help execute enterprise-level vision and strategy by facilitating business level strategies and driving large, multi-functional, cross-border assignments for the firm.
The team is also responsible for sourcing, assessing and executing partnerships, investments, acquisitions, and divestitures based on BlackRock's strategic priorities.
We are recruiting for an Associate who will learn from, and work alongside, seasoned strategy and corporate development professionals, contributing to some of APAC’s most critical priorities.
The role will be based in Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of firm-wide growth strategies and long-term goals
Work with business leaders to identify opportunities to meet these goals including (but not limited to): market entry strategies, business prioritization, operational efficiency, and assessing strategic investments
Support specific regional ang global initiatives and projects aligned to the firm’s 2030 strategy
Work collaboratively across multiple teams and functions to further strategic objectives
Lead workstreams, problem solving sessions and drive analyses to support project hypotheses and recommendations
Clearly communicate via presentations, meetings and via memos
Engage with Global CS&D and Finance teams to provide periodic updates on business / regional performance and strategy
Evaluate business opportunities globally, including acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures
Develop and maintain industry and competitive intelligence
Leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency and productivity
Development Value:

Proven track record of people migrating from Corporate Strategy & Development into elevated roles within various BlackRock business functions

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s and / or Master’s degree, with strong record of academic achievement
4-7 years of relevant work experience
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinking aptitude
Superb written and oral communication skills in English; command of an Asian language a plus
High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in crafting executive level presentations with clear conclusions and recommendations
Familiarity with financial modeling, financial statement analysis, investing due diligence & company valuation, and/or demonstrated willingness or interest in improving these skills
Excited to deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands
Ability to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral, to internal and external audiences across levels of seniority
Experience in working effectively at all levels of an organization and building strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives across multiple locations
Knowledge of and exposure to the full range of BlackRock’s operational activities desirable
