Associate Allocator – TNF, Americas

What will you do? 

A day in the life of an Associate Allocator (Americas) at The North Face looks a little like this. 

You are an integral part of the DTC business responsible for executing the monthly floor sets and ensuring replenishment for all retail locations of The North Face in North America. You will collaborate with Buying and Planning teams to drive financial results. You will do this by managing inventory at the location and size level, determining appropriate inventory levels, and maximizing sales.

Here at The North Face, we welcome individuals who will be strong team players in supporting the day in and day out decision making and strategic direction of the DTC vision. You will consistently monitor the performance of assigned classifications to ensure inventory levels, assortments, quantities, and size availability are aligned to achieve the company’s sales and profitability objectives. In addition to working closely with the DTC Merchandising team, Allocation works cross-functionally with the Visual, Store Operations, Logistics, and the DC Teams.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. 

  • Develop ongoing cross-functional partnership with Buying and Planning team to develop allocation strategies that support the DTC financial objectives.

  • Execute the initial floor sets based on the buying assortment strategy, visual and window displays in store, and brand marketing stories.

  • Analyze sales and inventory reporting to determine allocation approaches that address the style/color/size needs at regional/cluster/store levels.

  • Create replenishment models that consider sales needs, store capacity limits, and store percent contribution. Execute and analyze results weekly to recommend needed inventory adjustments.

  • Review and evaluate size selling performance at a store level to ensure best customer experience.

  • Manage and report on inbound receipt flow by partnering with buying and supply planning.

  • Plan distro flow to stores and analyze current inventory/in transit based on monthly/weekly forecast communicated to Store Operations, Logistics, and DC partners.

  • Initiate store-to-store transfers and consolidations based on style life cycle and product needs by store. 

  • Build relationships with regional and district field leaders to marry the art and science of the right product at the right store at the right time.

  • Perform segment transfers between channels and wholesale to capitalize on opportunities.

  • Complete quarterly and seasonal store grading and clustering for better store assortments.

  • Partner on appropriate assortments and inventory levels for new, remodel, and relocation stores to meet goals for store opening plan. Maintain site attributes in conjunction with changes and new store openings.

  • Participate in store visits, present findings, and propose recommendations.

  • Possesses a passion for continuous improvement and a can-do attitude. Contributes to the success of DTC with positive cross-functional partnership.

What do you need to succeed?

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 1+ years of experience and professional achievements. 

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Retail experience in an analytical role, preferably in Allocation role.

  • Possesses logical analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Able to deliver strong and thorough presentations, identifying business issues and solutions

  • Can build and maintain productive relationships with many cross-functional teams

  • Succeeds in time-management, able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrates strong listening, written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate Excel experience) and possess aptitude to learn technical applications quickly.

  • Aptitude to evaluate financial acumen and translate information into actionable items.

  • Must be flexible and adaptive to change

  • Location requirement: Denver, Colorado

Hiring Range:

$57,888.00 USD - $72,360.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
