Associate Account Specialist - Incentive Programs

Location: Maryland's Eastern Shore (Remote - with local travel)

As an Associate Account Specialist, you will support the commercial utility programs for Delmarva Power Energy Savings for Business. You will work closely with the utility client and ICF’s implementation team to bring energy efficiency and bill savings to utility customers through the EmPOWER Maryland programs. The successful candidate will be highly organized, customer service oriented, and adept with Microsoft Office products. Strong communication skills are key.

The Associate Account Specialist works closely with a small team to manage the utility rebate programs' relationships with the service provider (or trade ally) community. The key responsibilities of this role include managing trade ally and service provider relationships, performing customer outreach, and providing other technical services for utility energy efficiency rebate programs and their stakeholders as needed. In this role, you will be responsible for outreach to new and existing service providers, training service providers on participation requirements, tracking and reporting outreach outcomes, conducting market research, and facilitating communications and coordination across a Commercial Trade Ally/Service Provider network throughout Maryland's Eastern Shore. This position requires frequent travel across Maryland's Eastern Shore.

What you will be doing:

  • Outreach to existing and potential service providers / trade allies to drive submission of rebate applications
  • Build and maintain relationships with Maryland service providers / trade allies, contractors, distributors and industry associations
  • Identify and attend industry events, including expos, trade shows, counter days, etc. to represent the utility rebate programs
  • Coach and train service providers / trade allies and internal support team members on best practices, application processes, and technical subject matter
  • Be a resource to the service provider community, helping manage simple IT Issues, answer questions, and assist with rebate application management
  • Create and deliver "lunch-and-learn"-style trainings for network members; organize and provide metrics specific to training.  Coordinate with the Marketing team around development of messaging and resources.
  • Support the reporting team to assemble and provide reports, presentations, and database management using many MS Office programs and industry-specific software tools
  • Stay informed on industry news, updates, and trends
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are between 30% to 80% of the time. (reimbursement for mileage provided)

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree in (Business, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Energy Studies, Energy Systems, Energy Efficiency, Energy Management, IT, Political Science, or other relevant field)(Candidates can subsitute relative years of experience for each year of education)
  • 1+ years of professional work experience; preferrable in Lighting, HVAC or Refrigeration trades
  • Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
  • Preferably based on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Frequent travel will be required between the upper and lower shore. Occasional travel will also be required to Columbia, MD and Washington D.C. 

What we would like you to have:

  • Experience with and knowledge of energy efficiency
  • Experience working in or around the trades
  • Experience scheduling and managing trainings or other events
  • Experience with customer service or sales. Experience with a customer relations management (CRM) tool and databases is a plus
  • Experience working with or managing databases a plus
  • Bilingual in English and any other language a plus
  • Customer-service oriented attitude
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Products. 
  • Comfort with public speaking

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$55,665.00 - $94,631.00
