Assoc Network Engineer

UMG is currently seeking an eager and exceptional individual to join our Network Build Team. The position will be responsible for delivery on small to midsize infrastructure projects. Applicant needs to have experience in network deployments and migrations. 

 

Job Functions 
 

  • Deploy network solutions following documented implement plans. 

  • Create configurations for network equipment deployments following UMG standard processes. 

  • Physically install network and security equipment to support designs. 

  • Turnover implemented work to the operational support teams. Ensure network project documentation is complete and accurate. 

  • Review proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality product and/or service 

  • Confirm the alignment of customer expectations and implementation plans. 

  • Provide documentation and communication to management for status, coordination, objectives, and performance. 

  • Work with service providers for the coordination, delivery, and testing of network circuits. 

  • Assess and troubleshoot, consult with vendors, and coordinate with other teams for problem resolution of build activities. 

  • Ensure compliance with incident, problem, and change management procedures and standards to ITIL standards by all Sourcing Provider(s) 

  • Attend technical project review meetings.  Ensure project technical designs meet UMG’s operational requirements are in compliance with UMG infrastructure and security standards 

  • Other tasks as deemed necessary or appropriate 

 

Job Requirements 

Skills/Abilities: 

 

  • Cisco CCNA or greater preferred 

  • Ability to establish and troubleshoot BGP and OSPF peering 

  • Ability to create and deploy wireless SSIDs using both 802.1x and PSK security models. 

  • Knowledge of Firewall configuration and rule creation 

  • Ability to follow migration plans for minimal disruption to existing network 

  • Solid written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills    

  • Fluent in English (written and oral)        

Experience: 

 

  • Experienced IT professional with 2+ years overall experience and minimum of 1 year as a Network Administrator.   

  • Experience in the design and delivery of customer-facing presentations  

  • Experience configuring and/or administering firewalls (Palo Alto preferred) (1 year minimum) 

  • Experience implementing networks in both Greenfield and Brownfield deployments
