The Assoc Contract Manager serves as a regional lead in managing the preparation, negotiation and finalization of contract templates, process and negotiation parameters (including, contractual terms and conditions, and ancillary documents), and oversight of associated investigator grant budget(s), with an assigned workload of clients. Ensures quality, objectivity and risk analysis in the efficient delivery of contract templates, process and negotiation parameters. teams and Contract Specialists as directed by Contract Managers.
What You'll Do:
• Draft, review, negotiation, and finalization of contract templates, process and
negotiation parameters with clients in accordance with PPD contractual
considerations and processes.
• Negotiate within approved parameters contractual terms and conditions in accordance with
company contractual considerations, client contractual considerations,
established process with clients and follows established escalation routes.
• Communicate, train and provide approved contract templates, process and
negotiation parameters and client expectations to assigned team members.
• Ensure collaboration, quality alignment with terms and conditions, process and
client expectations with assigned team members.
• Provide recommendations and alternative resolutions to contract negotiations to
internal and external clients.
• Work with internal functional departments to facilitate coordination of different
site startup activities impacted by contractual activities upon mutually agreed
upon timelines.
• Contribute to or may lead change initiatives within the department.
• Complete periodic quality reviews and peer feedback reports.
• Assist with training material to team members.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years) bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Mastery of the principles of contract law, including a general understanding of laws that influence
contract language, such as business, intellectual property and local tax and stamp laws across several regions
• Thorough understanding of business, contractual and financial principles related to service
agreements
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written) in English and in language spoken at your local place
of work.
• Capable of drafting and negotiating contract provisions within parameters
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent analytical and decision-based thinking
• In depth understanding of the clinical drug development and trial process, attained within the
pharmaceutical and/or CRO industry
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to organize competing priorities while monitoring contractual risk and issues
• Excellent customer focused style of communication, problem solving and collaboration
• Proficient in the use of automated systems and computerized applications, such as, Microsoft
Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
• Excellent problem solving, risk assessment and impact analysis abilities
• Capable of leading and mentoring others
