The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
This tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Psychology: Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Statistics, Research Methods, Biological Bases of Behavior, etc. Conduct research, apply for grants and publish. Participate in service commitments within the department, college, and university as well as the profession.
Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Psychology as needed. Teach graduate level courses in Biological Bases of Behavior, Child and Adolescent Development, Clinical Psychology, Therapeutic Intervention, and Assessment in Clinical Psychology Ph.D. programs.
Conduct research, apply for grants and publish.
Participate in service commitments within the department, college, university, as well as the profession.
Required Education and Experience:
Ph.D. degree in Psychology.
One year of college or university teaching for the Assistant Professor rank or five years college or university teaching for the Associate Professor rank.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication, written and technology skills.
Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate ability for effective teaching and scholarship.
Demonstrate support of professional organizations in the discipline and have potential for obtaining external funding.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology.
Successful candidates should be license-eligible or eligible for clinical licensure in the State of Texas.
Preference will be given to those who can teach various courses, demonstrate ability to publish, have a teaching record, and express interest in mentoring students.
