Job Summary:

The Assistant Warehouse Manager will operate a safe, efficient, orderly and clean warehouse operation for the storage of donated goods merchandise, to fill warehouse product requests for our retail operations, and to manage the loading of store shipments.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the daily assigned production operation including retail allocations, Cockrill Bend warehousing operations, the shipping and the unloading dock operations at Cockrill Bend.
  • Keep merchandise clearly identified, properly covered and safely stored in an identifiable place. 
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all donated goods merchandise that is stored in that facility and in storage trailers in the Nashville area.
  • Maintain the warehouse in a safe and clean manner.
  • Coordinate daily with Warehouse Manager, departments and stores to accomplish goals.
  • Complete reports as required and in a timely manner.
  • Assures policies, procedures and other documentation are established to provide for consistent and professional operation of all Warehouse functions.
  • Maintain personnel requirements of staff and the performance of employees under his/her supervision.
  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requires, at all times.
  • Regular, reliable attendance, as defined in Goodwill’s attendance policy.
  • Meets regularly with and consults with Warehouse Manager to analyze plant metrics in achieving productivity levels.
  • Acts ethically and responsibly in handling all company matters, especially those in which confidentiality is required.
  • Fill warehouse product requests from retail operations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain security of Goodwill property, including grounds, facility, equipment and donations.
  • Prepares, maintains, and submits reports and records for management depicting Warehouse performance to operating objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills:

Education

  • A minimum of a high school education or GED equivalent is required.

Experience

  • One (1) year of experience in supervision of the operations of a warehouse is required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Able to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Able to learn new processes quickly and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including ability to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Able to operate a forklift.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions and to work as a team member.
  • Ability to use email, Excel, and Word and the ability to learn new programs needed to complete job accurately.

Preferred Education/ Experience / Knowledge & Skills /Certifications & License

  • Work Experience in a warehouse/production/assemble type facility is preferred
