Employment term: Permanent part time, 30 hours per week

Your Part in Our Retirement Livings Team

As the Assistant Village Manager, you will assist the Village Manager in implementing operational plans, supporting sales and managing day-to-day activities in one or more of the Retirement Villages. The Assistant Village Manager is committed to providing resident focused service and a ‘sense of place’ in the village by initiate actions that generate measurable benefits to residents, their families and team members.  An overview of the role will include:

  • Foster effective working relationships with the team, residents, the Resident’s Committee (if applicable), their families/authorised representatives, the community and service providers. 

  • Support, facilitate and promote resident’s participation in village activities and ensure activities reflect resident’s preferences. 

  • Delivery of effective communication to residents including notices and newsletters and participate in formal and informal meetings and information sessions. 

  • Ensure resident’s rights and responsibilities are respected

  • Work with team members to deliver exceptional service to residents.

  • Assist the Village Manager in managing HR processes and lead the team in the absence of the Village Manager as delegated 

  • Work closely with the retirement living central support team and all intercompany teams in delivery of local, divisional and corporate goals and outcome.

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Hospitality, Hotel Management or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of working with older people.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and written communication skills with a high level of organisations skills and the ability to effectively manage and prioritise workloads.

  • Demonstrated office administration and financial management experience including sound knowledge and use of computer software packages e.g. Microsoft Office suite and database applications.

  • Understanding of current workplace health and safety regulations (WH&S) and continuous quality improvement practices.

  • Current Queensland Drivers Licence

  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain
