Primary Key Responsibilities (Top 3-5 KRA)
- Assume responsibility for providing expert advice and services by applying judgements, utilising specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise for the interpretation and implementation of accounting standards and business requirements.
- People management, resource planning, issue management and stakeholder management.
- Engage in planning and conducting high-level reviews of deliverables, support UK counterparts, present technical papers in forums, and take ownership of the overall team and process.
- Foster strong relationships and liaise effectively with auditors, fund teams, third-party accountants, and other divisions within the M&G business, while actively participating in working groups and cross-functional teams (CFTs).
- Own process and control enhancements while ensuring best practices are implemented in the team
Additional Responsibilities :
- Maintain a good relationship and liaise with the Auditors, fund teams, third party accountants and other parts of the M&G business, participation in working groups and CFTs
- Review and sign off of the Consolidated funds reporting under IFRS and associated workbooks, for submission to M&G Group Head Office and ensuring any other consolidation requirements are met.
- Review and sign off of ADS reporting for submission to M&G Group Head Office.
- Review and present analytical reviews for the sign off with Head of finance/Group Reporting Director
- Review and present technical papers for IFRS 10 assessments on investment made by certain funds and ensuring that the correct investments are valued.
- Liaise with the external auditors, ensuring that timescales are communicated and agreed and the auditors’ requirements are met to ensure timely completion of their work
- Ensure compliance with current IFRS
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and contribute to the delivery of other finance change projects supporting programmes with detailed accounting requirements and impact analysis
- Review and development of processes and procedures to accommodate business changes.
- Supporting continuous improvement through routine and bespoke analyses
- Plan and schedule work to meet deliverable time lines
- Maintain effective working relationships with other teams across M&G Finance, TPAs ensuring that Group reporting needs are communicated, understood and met
- Ensure that training and development needs of team members are identified and any best practices and trainings are picked up and co-ordinated with L&D
- Design and implement early warning system to prevent/control attrition
- Demonstrate a positive risk, compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions and failures that arise
