MUFG, one of the world’s most respected financial groups with a rich heritage spanning over 350 years, is seeking an Assistant Vice President for their Corporate Actions and Income Processing team in London. This is a unique opportunity to join a global powerhouse that values integrity, responsibility, and transparency at every level. As part of MUFG’s Asset Servicing division within Markets and Securities Operations, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both primary and secondary market activities across a diverse range of asset classes. You will be empowered to make a tangible impact on the business by ensuring seamless processing of corporate actions and income events, while collaborating closely with colleagues across continents. With a strong commitment to nurturing talent and fostering long-term growth, MUFG offers an inclusive environment where your expertise will be valued and your professional development supported. If you are looking for a role that combines technical challenge, cross-team collaboration, and the chance to contribute to the success of one of the world’s leading financial institutions, this could be your next career move.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure all business-as-usual processes related to corporate actions and income events are performed efficiently, accurately, and within strict deadlines to avoid any operational losses.
  • Oversee daily operations of the outsourced income processing function by maintaining robust checks and controls, guaranteeing high standards of service delivery.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Front Office teams to ensure internal service levels are consistently met and exceeded.
  • Process mandatory and voluntary corporate actions—including optional dividends—and provide coverage for dividend and coupon processes as required.
  • Perform daily cash reconciliations with transparent break reporting; proactively follow up with counterparties to minimise outstanding cash items.
  • Liaise with external counterparties to confirm voluntary event instructions promptly, ensuring timely execution of client requirements.
  • Understand withholding tax implications for each market; ensure entitlements align with double taxation treaty rates for accurate client outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with Settlements teams and Derivatives Trade Support to guarantee all static data is updated correctly in line with event changes for seamless end-to-end processing.
  • Identify trades subject to auto-compensation and update internal workflows accordingly to maintain process integrity.
  • Strictly adhere to CASS rules regarding client money segregation while regularly reviewing procedures for continuous improvement.

What you bring:

  • Experience in a corporate actions or income processing role within investment banking or broader financial services is essential for success in this position.
  • Demonstrated understanding of front-to-back processing flows across both mandatory and voluntary corporate action events is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel—including Vlookup functions, Pivot Tables, and Graphs—is necessary for effective data analysis and reporting.
  • A solid grasp of how corporate events impact derivatives positions along with associated processing requirements is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with automation initiatives within corporate actions or income processes would be beneficial for driving efficiency improvements.
  • Knowledge of systems such as Swift messaging platforms, IntelliMatch reconciliation tools, or Broadridge Gloss is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong presentation skills using Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) are preferred for communicating insights effectively.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential if you can demonstrate relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills are vital for building trust-based relationships across teams and engaging confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with a structured approach ensures accuracy even when managing large workloads under tight deadlines.
