The opportunity

Kickstart your underwriting career in a high‑performing team. This entry‑level, admin‑based role is perfect for someone who’s keen to learn underwriting from the bottom up. You’ll learn Builders Warranty underwriting in a supportive environment, starting with core administrative and customer support tasks. Along the way, you’ll build a strong foundation in financial analysis and risk concepts while working closely with brokers and homeowners. With autonomy and flexibility built into the role, you can focus on doing great work, developing your skills, and maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

Your new role

You’ll be the first point of contact for brokers and homeowners, supporting the team with admin tasks while learning the fundamentals of underwriting. You will:

  • Participate in internal and external meetings to share knowledge and best practice.
  • Maintain up-to-date product, system, and process knowledge.
  • Attend relevant training courses and share insights with the team.
  • Ensure all underwriting activities comply with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve client complaints promptly.

About you

You bring strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You’re organized, customer-focused, and eager to learn.

You will have:

  • Strong numeracy and ability to analyse financial data.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving capability and sound grasp of business and risk concepts.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in customer-centric roles and confidence interacting with stakeholders.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to develop underwriting expertise.
  • Builders Warranty experience preferred but not essential.
