Assistant Treasurer

London Full time

About the role

We have a fabulous opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to join our team as an Assistant Treasurer. In this key role, you will report to the Head of Treasury and act as a senior leader within the Group Treasury EMEA team, overseeing day-to-day operations while driving several high-impact strategic and transformational initiatives.

The successful candidate will be an advocate for operational excellence—leading a major project to consolidate pan-European cash management arrangements and overseeing the integration of regional treasury platforms. You will act as a vital interface between Treasury and the EMEA business, ensuring we deliver value through process simplification and the optimization of resources across our global function.

This is a 9-month fixed term contract position (with the potential to extend) designed for an ambitious leader looking to leave a significant mark on a sophisticated global treasury function.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cash Management Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of multi-jurisdictional cash management solutions, selecting banking partners and driving group-wide decision-making
  • Transformation & Integration: Oversee the integration of EMEA treasury platforms and lead projects to eliminate duplicate processes, optimizing the combined treasury model
  • Front Office Oversight: Manage day-to-day liquidity needs, including cash investments, debt drawings, FX transactions, and derivatives, while ensuring group-wide liquidity is optimized
  • Business Partnering: Act as the principal point of escalation for banks and local finance teams, representing Treasury on cross-functional projects involving tax, accounting, and governance
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Enhance short-term cash flow visibility and reporting, ensuring the central management of liquidity is both robust and efficient
  • Risk & Governance: Maintain a strong risk and controls environment, ensuring all treasury activities meet the highest standards of internal governance and SOX compliance

About you

  • Extensive Treasury experience in a global corporate treasury environment with expert knowledge of Treasury Operations and TMS
  • Proven track record of implementing multi-jurisdictional cash management solutions and leading large-scale change management
  • Broad understanding of FX, debt, derivatives, working capital finance, and treasury accounting.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to build relationships across tax, accounting, and regional finance teams.
  • A senior leader capable of mentoring team members while maintaining a rigorous SOX and risk control environment
  • Experienced in working across a complex matrix environment, both remotely and in person

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Car allowance
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme, life assurance and income protection
  • Employee Assistance Programme
