POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

The Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor of Economics starting September 1, 2026.

 

Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching.

organizations and an interest in building relationships with business partners and other external

stakeholders. As the department has a rich portfolio of programs, we seek candidates who can be

effective in teaching across all programs -- both introductory and advanced courses at the

undergraduate and graduate levels and in multiple modalities ((in-person, asynchronous, or synchronous online) based on departmental needs.   Teaching Faculty are responsible for teaching eight courses each year, student advisement, and professional development.

 

The position is a two-year, ten-month, non-tenure track appointment, with eligibility for

reappointment based on established NTTP procedures. The University is committed to the success of

Nearly 105 full-time faculty and 35 staff members bring an impressive range of expertise to the School, with terminal degrees and advanced training from leading universities. The Feliciano School of Business is committed to enhancing its reputation and engagement with the business community while raising its scholarly profile and dedicates substantial resources to support faculty research and development.

 

The Department of Economics offers a BA in Economics, a minor in Economics, and a concentration in Asset Management. Separately, the department supports the MBA Program in teaching both required and elective graduate level courses in economics.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field. Teaching experience in specific areas of Economics, particularly Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, is required. Effective candidates should demonstrate a clear approach to engaging students and conveying complex economic concepts.

  

 

SALARY RANGE       Commensurate with experience

Salary Range

$76,610.29-$89,387.25 Annually
