A Glimpse of the Job 

The Department of Management at Mays Business School is seeking an Assistant Program Director who will play a pivotal role in advancing the Flex Online Master of Science in Entrepreneurial Leadership. In this position, the successful candidate will help shape a seamless and high‑quality academic experience by coordinating program operations, supporting strategic planning, and overseeing curriculum scheduling. This role will supervise staff, collaborate closely with faculty, and maintain strong communication with students and key stakeholders. Through thoughtful evaluation and continuous improvement efforts, the Assistant Program Director ensures the program remains innovative, responsive, and aligned with the department’s commitment to excellence in online graduate education.

What You Need to Know 

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000/annually (Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.)

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Management, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Six years of related experience.

 

A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Experience in entrepreneurship programming/education.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication.

  • Proficient customer service skills.

  • Experience in administrative duties and recruiting.

  • Knowledgeable about the world of business.

  • Knowledgeable of Texas A&M.

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, Compass, Howdy, and CARS.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.

Opportunities to Contribute

  • Recruiting and Admissions - Leads recruiting, admissions, and outreach efforts for the Flex Online MS ENLD Program while also finding synergy with the Full-Time MS ENLD program. Reaches out to program leads to obtaining application materials (for example: resumes and transcripts) and guides candidates through the process. Conducts prospective student calls, meetings, and interviews to assess fit and readiness. Collaborates with other graduate programs and the Mays Marketing & Communications team to coordinate and participate in shared recruiting events. Engages in continued follow-up with Flex Online students throughout the admissions and onboarding process. Track incoming student onboarding and assist students throughout the onboarding process to ensure readiness and compliance.

  • Student Experience Management and Support - Serve as first point of contact for prospective and enrolled students in the Flex Online program, troubleshooting issues, and triaging requests. Assist program director with academic program assessment and data analysis. Facilitate touch points throughout each semester for students to engage with each other and build community across the network of MS ENLD programs. Solicit student feedback and recommend program improvements based on evaluations and student outcomes. Ensure Flex Online students are billed accordingly and connect them with resources for financial aid and billing questions. Hold primary responsibility for ensuring all Flex Online students are registered for the correct courses each term; serve as pre-committee approver on degree plans and checking for degree clearances for degree candidates.

  • Program Operations - Manage program logistics such as ordering textbooks and materials for faculty and students. Coordinate program group assignments and set up with faculty (and other stakeholders) each semester. Work closely with faculty and other stakeholders for smooth scheduling and course delivery, escalating scheduling issues to the program director when appropriate. Serve on the MS ENLD scholarship committees and facilitate the scholarship application, review, and award process for the portfolio of MS ENLD programs. Assist the MS ENLD Program Director with the submission of curricular revisions and new course requests. Serve as the internal liaison for the Mays Graduate Program’s Office (including the Career Management Center) and the Mays Teaching and Learning Innovation team. Works with internal MS ENLD and MGMT stakeholders to develop the program budget and account for expenditures. Supervision of student workers.

  • Serving as the Backup for the FT Program and Other Duties as Assigned - Serve as backup support for the Full-Time (FT) MS ENLD program as needed. This might include responding to urgent student requests or assisting with Department of Management events.
