DART is committed to transforming its approach to post-secondary theatre education through an intersectional, anti-supremacist understanding of equity. Our commitment consists of a ten-year, iterative process begun in 2022, of reviewing and revising the Department’s recruitment and hiring practices; its pedagogical approaches, curriculum design, and production practices; and its performance programming and community engagements. DART leads the Canada-wide, SSHRC-funded Staging Better Futures/Mettre en scene de meilleurs avenirs Partnership of over 30 postsecondary theatre programs, theatre companies, and professional theatre organizations.
