The Department of Music and Fine Arts at the University of the Cumberlands invites applications for a full-time, 10-month Assistant or Associate Professor of Art position. We seek a dedicated and engaging educator who is passionate about undergraduate teaching, mentorship, and scholarship. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic and collaborative department that prepares students for graduate study and meaningful careers in art and related fields. We seek an educator with experience in 3D modalities (sculpture, etc.) and digital modalities (photography, emerging technologies, etc.) The Department of Music and Fine Arts values excellence in teaching, diverse perspectives, and service that makes a positive impact.

Job Responsibilities:
· Teach courses in the Art and Art Education curriculum
· Collaborate with colleagues in the Music and Fine Arts Department and throughout the university.
· Adapt and align course materials using departmental syllabus templates, required text(s), and other resources.
· Provide regular and timely feedback on student work.
· Maintain regular communication with students through virtual office hours and e-mail.
· Maintain clear, consistent records in Blackboard Ultra and the university’s online record keeping platform
· Follow university policies and procedures.
· Advise and mentor students in academic and professional development.
· Contribute to curriculum design and departmental assessment.
· Serve Department and University committees.
· Maintain active engagement in scholarship and service within the field.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master’s degree in Studio Art
· Active creative/scholarly work
· Student-focused teaching that addresses the needs of all learners
· Ongoing professional development
· Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· M.F.A. in Studio Art
· Experience with a variety of pedagogical and technological educational delivery methods.
