Position Description
The McGill University Department of Pediatric Surgery, Division of Pediatric Otoloaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time position as a member of the Contract Academic Staff at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical). The professorial rank will be determined according the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience. This will be a three-year, renewable appointment and does not confer eligibility for tenure.
The Department of Pediatric Surgery is internationally recognized for excellence in clinical care, research, and education, and is committed to advancing innovative, patient-centered, and multidisciplinary pediatric surgical programs. The successful candidate will be based at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH) of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), one of Canada’s leading pediatric academic hospitals and a major teaching site of McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, Quebec. The successful candidate will be involved in the academic activities of the McGill University Department of Pediatric Surgery where they will be expected to develop as a clinician–scientist and to articulate a compelling vision for building a sustainable, high-impact research program within the Division and Department. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong potential to secure competitive, peer-reviewed external funding and to establish a program of scholarship that advances the field of pediatric otolaryngology through innovation, translational research, and/or health systems impact, including global surgery research.
