Assistant Materials Coordinator

Maintain appropriate levels of predetermined stock, order spares, maintain perpetual inventory by way of approved processes, and ensure all materials for drilling operational requirements are met in a timely manner. Materials Coordinators are expected to give equal consideration to cost, people and processes, safety, environmental conditions, and materials management responsibilities. Reports directly to Corporate Materials personnel and liaisons with the Rig Manager and vendors to ensure all drilling operations materials are maintained in the most cost-effective manner possible, thus contributing to Noble’s Return on Investment philosophy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in inventory control and procurement; military training and inventory management experience a plus.
  • Completion of all training requirements for the position within designated time period.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in office applications, SAP, and other systems required for the position.
  • Excellent customer service skills to deal with all manner, and type, of customers.
  • Ability to claim and accept ownership of rig equipment and processes, and to provide appropriate leadership when called upon.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis and to follow-up on all tasking to completion.
  • Ability to deal with authority figures in a mature, reasonable, and confident manner.
  • Ability to provide a clean, organized, and professional looking storerooms.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to plan ahead in accomplishing company goals is a must.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure that safe and efficient offshore operations are conducted at all times.
  • Maintain adequate stocks of spares at predetermined stock levels by utilizing valid usage history to establish min/max levels of stocking.
  • Order spares in an expeditious manner to maintain designated stock levels and monitor usage histories.
  • Maintain an ongoing inventory by way of approved company processes utilizing SAP database management software programs, as applicable.
  • Liaise with onshore administration and procurement personnel as well as designated vendors.
  • Maintain a SAP rental register of equipment on unit, recording traceability.
  • Ensure all potential hazardous goods are transported in the correct method.
  • Ensure stock check is executed as per program.  Report on progress.
  • Handle operators material related matters.
  • Ensure material requisitions are accurate, timely, and reflect the desired materials and/or services requested.
  • Provide regular updates of inventory levels for onshore and offshore stocks as needed for monthly accounting reports.
  • As per policy, generate and analyze necessary reports to monitor all aspects of inventory management and convey those report results to rig management to ensure operational goals are achieved respectful of materials management.
  • Confirm that hand-over logs have relevant information for the safe and efficient running of the operation.
  • Prepare shipping lists, conduct receipt of goods check(s), and process third party charges and rebilling in a timely manner.
  • Maintain good two-way communication with crew members, onshore administration and procurement personnel, and vendors.
  • Assist team members in maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Participate in the development of newly appointed team members.
  • Relieve of other team members as required by drilling operations and tasking.

         HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Implement and uphold Noble's safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all operations proceed in a safe manner.  Correct and notify responsible parties of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist.
  • Encourage and motivate personnel to observe safety and environmental policies and all intended and implied requirements of Noble's Management System.
  • Responsible for familiarizing and adhering to Noble's Live Safe Code for the purpose of promoting a zero-incident and no-harm workplace.
  • Responsible for familiarizing and utilizing Noble's Hazard Identification Tool to manage risk created by various energy sources found in the workplace.
  • Attend and actively participate in daily pre-tour and weekly safety meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements established in Noble's Management System.
  • Initiate a safety stand down whenever an unplanned hazard or change in the expected results is observed.
  • Perform all Safety Critical Tasks as detailed in the HSE Case.
  • Incorporate the STOP the job planning process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.
  • Take the initiative to perform emergency duties without specific orders or instruction.
  • Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis and prepare hazard assessments as required.
  • Responsible for compliance with all government regulations.
