About your team
Marketing at Fidelity International Japan (FIJ) covers the Wholesale, Sub-Advisory and Institutional businesses. For each of these business channels, we aspire to undertake differentiated, audience-focused marketing programs revolving around branding, intellectual capital and product-specific content. With an increasing emphasis on contemporary digital marketing, we collaborate with partners around the world on delivering effective marketing programs to reach and influence our multiple audiences in Japan.
About your role
FIJ is focused on delivering outstanding products and services to clients across all of our business channels. Business Promotion plays a key role in this effort, and the Assistant Marketing Manager will support the planning and execution of campaigns for new and existing products as well as non-product efforts such as Branding, D&I and ESG. In the planning stage, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders on understanding the audience, their needs and optimal marketing approach. In the execution stage, you will work with related internal areas including Content Marketing and Digital Marketing as well as with outside vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Play an active role working and supporting the product marketing and brand marketing on strategic planning and execution aimed at achieving commercial targets of FIJ, focusing mainly on B2B businesses (Distributors & Institutional investors).
Marketing & Business Planning
Play an active role in supporting both Product Marketing and Brand Marketing on strategic planning and execution aimed at achieving FIJ’s commercial targets, with a primary focus on B2B businesses (Distributors & Institutional Investors).
Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns to drive business objectives, including digital, video, and print initiatives.
Content Development & Production
Cooperate closely with marketing specialists to bring brand initiatives to life.
Manage end-to-end content production, including proofreading, design, layout, formatting, and coordination of approvals.
Assist with video production, including shooting, editing, and creation.
Internal Coordination & Communication
Act as a central hub for internal communication, serving as a key contact point between the Marketing function and business stakeholders including Sales, Client Service, Compliance, Corporate Communications, and other related departments.
Support the development of communication plans and coordinate with internal and external partners such as advertising agencies.
Campaign & Project Management
Assist in developing marketing plans aligned with business and marketing strategies.
Liaise and negotiate with business stakeholders, brief advertising agencies, and support policy development and implementation.
Perform effectiveness measurements of campaigns and contribute to continuous improvement with support from marketing colleagues.
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Take full accountability for administrative tasks, collaborating with team members on:
Business Continuity Plan (BCP) maintenance
Anaplan (budget control platform)
Onboarding forms and Process Unity input (vendor registration platforms)
Manage team budgets and support vendor onboarding.
Provide general operational support to ensure smooth team functioning.
Experience and Qualifications
Required
Experience in the Japanese financial industry (from approximately 1 year) and basic industry knowledge
Strong interest in marketing for financial products
High proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal)
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and proactively drive work in a hands-on environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Self-driven, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
Flexibility and team-oriented attitude to support team needs as required.
Preferred
Hands-on experience in marketing campaigns or promotional activities, including digital, video, and print.
Experience in content production and translation
Familiarity with video editing tools such as Clipchamp
