What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager Electronic Services is accountable for partnering with the department manager in managing and leading teams, executing customer transactions, handling escalations from team members, bankers and customers and ensuring transactions are in compliance with documented policies and procedures and within predetermined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The incumbent will lead by example and coach team members in support of their individual growth and development.  The incumbent will be a change agent by leading and partnering with other departments within and outside of the team on projects, process changes and automation opportunities as well as establishing themselves as subject matter expert on electronic payment processing and systems. Creates a high performing team by providing training, coaching, career development opportunities and feedback to all direct reports.  Has knowledge and ability to adequately process hands on transactions as needed and ensures the team has the tools to perform their job at an optimal level. Advocates for an inclusive environment, ensuring everyone has a voice. 

Daily tasks performed by the team include:

  • Managing group email boxes to ensure transactions are processed and customer questions are addressed timely

  • Monitoring and approving large dollar/NSF transactions and special queues requiring a higher level of expertise

  • Timely clearing of exceptions (e.g. transactions requiring secondary review and outside of documented process) and daily reconciliations

  • Supporting customer and internal banker calls including escalations

  • Partnering with 3rd party providers and internal support teams to address issues (e.g. connectivity) impacting system performance

  • Ensuring wire system is properly opened and closed daily

  • Escalations, Problem Solving, Governance and Testing:  Handles more complex transactions and escalations across multiple disciplines. 

  • Partners with other Business Units such as Treasury Management, IT, Risk and Compliance to ensure business processes are within regulatory and bank guidance/procedures/policies in support of providing best in class customer experience. 

  • Participates in internal audits and compliance reviews including SOX and external attestations (e.g. FRB, SWIFT) and remediate identified gaps. Lead integrated system testing efforts to ensure system operates as designed to support daily operations.

  • Policy, Procedures, Reporting and Efficiencies: Develop and implement new process guidelines, procedures, SLAs and KPIs for the Electronic Services team.

  • Encourage new ideas from the team members and drive change by proactively making recommendations for improvement within and across teams.

  • Collaborates with operational excellence and business process improvement teams to ensure processes align with lean best practices. 

  • Ensure KRIs/KPIs are in line with established limits and develop action plans to remediate if necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years’ experience management experience in Electronic Payments including Wires, Real Time Payments and ACH, SWIFT Network, Clearinghouse

  • Familiarity with Banking Regulations such as Dodd-Frank, Reg E, UCC4a as it relates to commercial payments

  • Knowledge of Federal Reserve Bank Operating Circulars.  Previous customer contact experience and Federal Reserve Bank Fedwire system a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $71,000-$92,000 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
