Job Description

Oversee and manage end-to-end tax compliance and reporting, ensuring adherence to applicable tax laws while optimizing tax efficiency and minimizing organizational tax liabilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct Tax – Income Tax & Transfer Pricing

Income Tax

  • Assist in developing and implementing tax strategies under the guidance of the Tax Director.
  • Review corporate income tax returns and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and ensure timely filing of income tax returns.
  • Support management of income tax audits, assessments, and liaison with tax authorities.
  • Monitor changes in income tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Prepare periodic reports on tax compliance status and tax liabilities for management review.

Transfer Pricing

  • Support preparation of Transfer Pricing Study Reports (TPSR).
  • Assist in filing Form 3CEB and maintaining transfer pricing documentation.
  • Conduct preliminary analysis of related party transactions.
  • Coordinate with statutory auditors and external consultants for transfer pricing compliance.

2. TDS (Tax Deducted at Source)

  • Ensure timely deduction and deposit of TDS in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Prepare and file TDS returns accurately and within statutory timelines.
  • Reconcile TDS accounts and maintain detailed supporting records.
  • Provide guidance to finance and business teams on TDS applicability.
  • Track legislative changes related to TDS and assess compliance impact.

3. Indirect Tax – GST

  • Compute GST liabilities, including IGST on cross-border transactions.
  • Review and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9) accurately and on time.
  • Manage GST registrations, amendments, and ongoing compliance across business locations.
  • Reconcile Input Tax Credit (ITC) and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Support GST audits, assessments, and responses to tax authorities.
  • Assist in implementation and improvement of GST compliance processes and training of internal teams.
  • Handle GST exemptions and refund claims, including those related to exports.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of Indian direct and indirect tax laws.
  • Hands-on experience in tax return preparation and statutory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess tax risks and legislative changes.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (internal teams, auditors, tax authorities, consultants).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and tax/compliance software.
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 1–2 years of post-qualification experience in the taxation domain.
  • Prior experience in a multinational or large corporate environment is preferred.
