POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Team player for the development of Melco Construction.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assisting the Project Managers (PM) to overall manage the day to day design and site works of the Project to meet with the expected quality as specified, within the project budget and time.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

  • To co-ordinate design works of different consultancy disciplines to make them work

  • To resolve the technical problems related to the constructability of the design in respect to site condition and user’s requirement.

  • Under the direction of the senior management, to guide the consultant team for timely delivery of the design deliverables including re-design on value engineering (VE) matters.

  • To assist the PM to monitor due dates of deliverables by relevant parties

  • To review design and tender packages of both architectural and interior design, with comment.

  • To review shop drawings of architectural / fitting-out works / and etc., with comment.

  • To review method statement of architectural and fitting-out works / and etc., with comment.

  • To review material and sample submission of architectural and fitting-out works / and etc., with comment.

  • To coordinate w/ the contractor to resolve site matters, including vetting rectification proposal to resolve wrongly constructed works to fit in with the design and the intended usage.

  • To tender opinion to PM on cost saving items and substitute materials.

  • To assist the PM monitoring the work progress and qualities of the constructed and fitting-out works to the standard as specified.

  • Inspection of completed works and works in progress.

  • To carry out the factory inspection w/ the contractor including stone buy-off, metal and millwork fabrication etc for monitoring the workmanship before material delivery on site.

  • To co-ordinate the interfacing detail and demarcation between each trade including ABWF, MEP/ ELV, façade, kitchen and fit-out work etc.

  • To assist the PM to prepare and complete the tender documents such as scope of work, preliminary specification, scope demarcation plan and raise the tender query to consultants

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience

  • Must possess 8 years and above of construction management experience in Civil Engineering, building and fit out works.

Skills / Competencies

  • Must possess on site problem solving skill to ensure smooth progress of works.

  • Must be competent in managing contractors to achieve timely delivery of project.
