The Assistant Manager – Manufacturing is responsible for designing and developing new processes, assembly tooling, and equipment to support new product launches. Also his key focus areas include process planning, tooling design, capital budgeting, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with BorgWarner standards and ISO 50001 energy management requirements.
- Design and develop assembly tools, dies, and machines for chain manufacturing with robust process controls.
- Implement and troubleshoot automation solutions (vision systems, sensors, PLCs).
- Identify process bottlenecks and drive improvements in productivity, quality, and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams for new product launches and technology development.
- Conduct manufacturing feasibility assessments and provide capital/tooling requirements for RFQs.
- Plan and develop new assembly machines and facilities to meet customer demand and LRP volumes.
- Ensure adherence to capital/tooling budgets and BorgWarner standards during equipment development and installation.
- Improve existing processes to meet global benchmarks (Scrap/PPM, Poka-yoke, process capability).
- Provide technical support for critical line stoppages and customer complaints.
- Maintain tooling inventory and enhance team competency through training.
- Comply with ISO 50001:2011 for energy management and continuous improvement.
