The Assistant Manager, Internship serves as both an individual contributor and deputizes for the Team Manager in the administration of designated internship programmes under the NTU Career & Attachment Office’s Internship team. The Internship team facilitates internships for all NTU undergraduates to enhance their career readiness. It strives to improve internship participation and experiences for both students and host organisations by providing a unified platform for engagement, communication, and support.
The incumbent's role is to take responsibility towards the following areas of work:
Programme Operations and Service Management
Oversee the end-to-end management of internship programmes, including:
Manage the internship operations and work processes.
Develop strategies to increase internship opportunities and facilitate students’ participation and placement.
Monitoring the internship progress and proactively identify and pre-emptively address potential issues that may arise to support successful effective placement and completion.
Provide guidance and advice to students on internship matters.
Addressing and resolving common internship-related issues raised by either students or host organisations, including supporting the team on complex case management issues.
Account Management and Stakeholders Management
Engage with the college and/or schools to collaborate in managing and optimizing internship placement and increase student’s career readiness for internship.
Develop & maintain new and existing partners (host internship organisations) to support their requisition and increase their uptake of students in internship.
Collaborate with the respective internal stakeholders to ensure the provision of support for students’ internship search journey for an internship placement.
Team Management
Support team members in performing their assigned roles and responsibilities.
Support the Team Manager to ensure continuity of operations and overcome potential changes and challenges.
Collaborate across intra-teams to drive optimal operational performance through strong partnerships and coordinated.
Performance Reporting Supervision and Management
Prepare and work with data and statistics for tracking and reporting.
Analyse data and develop data insights for strategic planning.
Adhoc Projects and Initiatives
Lead and play a key role adhoc projects in areas of operations, data analysis and/or communications.
Seek to adopt and use new technology/system to improve overall performance and outcome.
Contributes in the solutioning for continuous improvement on workflows and stakeholder management.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Candidates with a polytechnic diploma and extensive relevant work experience are also welcome to apply.
Relevant work experience preferably in internship management, programme/project management, customer service management and process engineering.
Successful track record in the managing of internships and cooperative education is highly advantageous.
Minimum 5 years of work experience.
Basic understanding about tertiary education landscape, career development and job market.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A collaborative team player who contributes actively to team success.
Demonstrated passion for supporting youth in their career journeys.
Comfortable with data, systems, managing structured processes and adhering to established policies and administrative frameworks.
