Job Description

About this opportunity

We have transformed how we manage Non-Financial Risk across the Group. Our new operating model strengthens accountability for risk across the first line, while the second line provides specialist oversight, challenge and regulatory insight.

As an Assistant Manager in the Financial Promotions & CMA Compliance team, you’ll support senior specialists in providing regulatory advice, reviewing campaign assets and communications as well as the control environments they are created within to help design data enabled oversight that strengthens our monitoring. The role offers an excellent opportunity to build specialist expertise, develop analytical skills, and shape how we communicate to deliver good customer outcomes.

Day to day, you will be responsible for:

Advisory Support

  • Assist senior specialists in providing second line advice on FCA Financial Promotions rules, Consumer Duty, ASA advertising standards, and CMA requirements, including relevant orders and consumer protection obligations.
  • Help translate policy, rules and guidelines into clear, practical advice for first line teams.

Developing Oversight Data Points

  • Support the identification and development of meaningful data points that can be used for automated oversight of FP & CMA compliance.
  • Help shape simple dashboards, metrics, or recurring insights that show emerging risks or trends.
  • Present data outputs or findings in a clear, compelling and accessible way to support thematic reviews.

Risk Oversight & Issue Management

  • Contribute to the tracking and management of remediation actions, breaches and risk events relating to FP and CMA requirements.
  • Assist in identifying themes or root causes using both qualitative insight and emerging data led indicators.

Change Support

  • Support oversight of programmes, propositions or transformation activity involving communications or marketing.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Draft concise and clear reports, advisory notes and risk summaries for senior colleagues.
  • Support the maintenance of the policy framework, traceability artefacts, and knowledge resources.

Collaboration

  • Build positive, productive working relationships with first line business teams, Legal, and fellow risk specialists.
  • Work collaboratively across CCOR to support data enabled oversight and ensure consistent, joined up risk management
