What is the opportunity?

In this role you will provide an objective assessment of the Retail Credit Risk Management and Risk Mitigation practices throughout the Branch network inclusive of Compliance with Credit Policies, Guidelines and Regulatory Requirements.  You will also provide complete Post Loan Reviews on specific applications and provide feedback at an individual and unit level for coaching purposes to ensure Sales Professionals and Adjudicators are demonstrating appropriate credit decision making, deal structuring and adherence to policies and procedures.

What will you do?

  • * Using the approved Credit Quality Program ensure the following:
  • Adherence to Credit Rules and Guidelines, Product Guidelines, FPPC1 Guidelines and Portfolio Management routines to ensure 5 C’s are being applied including the following:
  • Verification and Confirmation of employment and income Verification and Confirmation of self-employed income Proper debt service calculations Proper structure and appropriate product offered Proper completion of the PCA and documentation of the purpose, rationale and collateral. Accurate completion of Credit Score/BRR
  • Complete Post Loan review of a sample of files, as outlined in the Credit Quality program for all branches and provide feedback to the Branch Managers and Area Vice Presidents
  • Identify High Risk Lenders and Units and provide appropriate solutions, including coaching and unit/personal actions plans
  • Identify systemic gaps and trending and participate in training and development activities to support 
  • Skill building in the Sales Team and closing gaps identified.
  • Ensure timely quarterly summary and/or trending reports are forwarded to Senior Management and GRM outlining systemic gaps

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • Equivalent of an Associate Degree or 5 BGCSE/CXC
  • Sound knowledge of the Bank’s Credit policies and procedures including FPPC, Product Guidelines, CRCP2 - Credit Rules and Guidelines
  • Computer Literate – proficient in RIBS, T24, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel or as required
  • Strong Risk Assessment and Analytical skills
  • Teamwork and Co-operation – Building Partnerships, Knowledge Transfer and relationship building
  • Strong written, oral communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to multitask, good listening, understanding and responding abilities
  • Strong coaching skills

Nice to Have:

  • Personal and Mortgage Lending Skills. Business lending skills would be an asset.
