The Assistant Maintenance Technician performs the duties associated with equipment, production, and facility maintenance under close supervision from Maintenance Supervisor. A great entry level role into facility and maintenance operations at a busy and family-owned company.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs routine building maintenance repairs through assigned work orders.
- Mixes and maintains polyurethane to support production needs.
- Cleans and prepares molds for production use.
- Maintains releasing agent, field spray and pigment at appropriate levels for production.
- Submits supply requests for approval. Picks up materials from vendors as needed.
- Operates fork-lift to move barrels and other equipment.
- Uses micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and other precision instruments to determine working clearances on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
- May be required to assist production assembly line when needed.

- Must be able to work in a fast paced, high quality manufacturing environment
- Must be able to function in a safe manner; observe safety practices; utilize PPE equipment
- Must have strong work ethic, accountability, judgment, and a positive attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Minimum Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Six months documented relevant experience is preferred.
- Ability to comply with all safety requirements as well as company policies and procedures.
- Familiar in the use of tools, machines, and testing instruments.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Manual dexterity.
- Valid driver’s license.
Additional Qualifications
- Some assembly, production or manufacturing experience
- Leadership skills are a plus
- Basic mathematical, reading skills and reasoning ability
- Individual must be eligible for employment in the United States
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours and work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to reach with arms extended and/or overhead, excellent hand dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, stretch and similar activities and able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently. Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
Location: This is an on-site position on Swan Island in North Portland.
Schedule: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Thursday
Base Salary: $19.00 an hour + annual bonus
- The schedule is Monday – Thursday: 6:00am – 4:30pm.
- Three-day weekends: Friday - Sunday
