Mount Holyoke College, the leading gender-diverse women's college and a pioneer in inclusive liberal arts education, invites applications for the position of Assistant Lacrosse Coach for our competitive NCAA Division III program. The Assistant Lacrosse Coach supports all management aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III program, reporting directly to the Head Coach. The top priority is the holistic collegiate experience of the student-athletes, paired with a commitment to fostering a positive, growth-oriented team culture that aligns with the institution's highly selective academic standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Head Coach on designing and implementing training, tactical strategies, and motivational methods. Provide mentorship and instruction supporting personal, academic, and athletic development.
Assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, ensuring full NCAA compliance and traveling as assigned.
Manage team travel logistics (transportation, lodging, meals). Track team eligibility/academic progress. Lead team social media and assist with gear/equipment management. Monitor team expenditures and support fundraising efforts.
Uphold all NCAA Division III, NEWMAC, and institutional rules. Coordinate with campus partners (Sports Medicine, S&C, Academic Support, etc.) to ensure comprehensive student-athlete resources.
Teach 2 credits of Physical Education courses. Fulfill an assigned Game Management role (e.g., volleyball/soccer). Participate in staff meetings and departmental activities.
Required Qualifications:
Four-year college degree or equivalent
Coaching and recruiting experience.
Demonstrated ability to foster a positive team culture at a competitive liberal arts college with high academic standards.
Strong written, interpersonal, and public speaking communication skills.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Valid CPR/AED certification and Driver's License.
Familiarity with NCAA Division III/NEWMAC rules.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous collegiate coaching experience.
Advanced degree (e.g., MA, MS, JD, PhD)
Hiring Range: $54,425 - $61,229
