Assistant Instructor – Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC)

The Role We Are Offering You

As an Assistant Instructor at NSWC, you will:

  • Deliver advanced tactical training programs and synthetic warfare scenarios.
  • Configure and operate combat system trainers, voice communications, and simulation networks.
  • Support synthetic training events by emulating actions of aircraft and vessels in simulated environments.
  • Assist with scenario design, database management, and exercise documentation.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to validate systems and troubleshoot network issues.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

Essential:

  • Vocational or technical degree with 5–8 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with Naval Combat Management Systems (AEGIS and 9LV preferred).
  • Strong understanding of RAN operational structure, warfighting principles, and doctrine.
  • Experience with ADF operations and exercise requirements (minimum 5 years).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Background in roles such as Surveillance Control Officer, Fighter Controller, Air Combat Officer, or similar.

Location:

HMAS Watson, Watsons Bay, South Head NSW.
