Job Summary: The GSA Office of Inspector General (OIG) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to serve as the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) for Inspections and to be a proactive member of our senior leadership team. This position is located at GSA headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: This announcement is open to all qualified Individuals within the civil service. Included are experts and consultants who occupy appointive positions, and individuals in the Postal Service and the Postal Rate Commission. The District of Columbia Government is not part of the Federal civil service. A person is considered to be in the civil service only if occupying a civil service position at the time of application to this vacancy announcement. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQs): Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications. TQ1: Substantial experience supervising and carrying out broad, highly technical, and complex inspections, evaluations and reviews from an office of Inspector General or any other comparable oversight organization. TQ2: Ability to prioritize objectives and develop strategies to meet organizational and agency mission requirements while enhancing the effectiveness of operations. EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS (ECQs): In addition to the Technical Qualification Requirements listed above, all new entrants into the Senior Executive Service (SES) under a career appointment will be assessed for executive competency against the following five mandatory ECQs. ECQ 3: Merit and Competence - This core qualification involves the demonstrated knowledge, ability and technical competence to effectively and reliably produce work that is of exceptional quality. ECQ 4: Leading People - This core qualification involves the demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a group toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals, and to drive a high-performance, high-accountability culture. This includes, when necessary, the ability to lead people through change and to hold individuals accountable. ECQ 5: Achieving Results - This core qualification involves the demonstrated ability to achieve both individual and organizational results, and to align results to stated goals from superiors.
