The NTU Office of Commercial and Auxiliary Services (OCAS) is responsible for the strategic planning, management, and marketing of commercial real estate, hospitality (including Nanyang Executive Centre) and auxiliary services (car parks and shuttle bus services) in NTU main campus and NTU@one-north.
The Nanyang Executive Centre (NEC) is located at the NTU Main Campus. Currently undergoing refurbishment, the NEC features 150 guestrooms and aims to offer a premier venue for corporate training, retreats and private events. We are looking for an experienced person to join the Housekeeping team as Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Manager in the overall management and strategy of the Housekeeping team. This role would focus on handling the day-to-day flawless operation of rooms cleaning, public areas as well as laundry, thereby establishing and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the NEC, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. Pre-opening duties will include supporting the Housekeeping Manager in setting up the housekeeping department, developing/refining procedures, and training the team on service standards, in preparation for the NEC’s launch.
Key Responsibilities:
Directly supervises the Housekeeping team and is responsible for their daily assignment of tasks and projects. Oversee the daily operation of rooms cleaning and public areas.
Support Housekeeping Manager to develop, implement and maintain NEC’s standards of cleanliness, guest service provision, controls and reporting.
Reviews/maintain a full set of operating policies and procedures. Enforce housekeeping procedures and standards, including through quality inspections, to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
Assists with staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Assists in appointing and supervising contract services related to Housekeeping.
Conduct daily housekeeping briefing and on the job training regularly to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
Ensure all housekeeping operations comply with health and safety regulations and established NEC procedures.
Inventory management: Monitor and control inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, and process replenishment orders.
Lost and found: Administer and manage NEC’s lost and found procedures.
Attend to any guest feedback/complaints and implement service recovery measures, if required.
Support in departmental budgeting and monitor departmental costs.
Maintenance coordination: Coordinate with engineering department to report and resolve any issues or defects found in rooms or public areas.
Cover Housekeeping Manager in his/her absence.
Undertake other duties as and when assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.

Requirements:
A Diploma or Degree, preferably in hospitality management or related field.
Previous experience in a housekeeping role, with a minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
Experience with accommodation/hotel pre-opening would be highly advantageous.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of safety and health regulations and standards.
Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed by NEC operations.
