Key responsibilities:

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Provide legal advice and support on European and international commercial, policy, and advocacy matters, ensuring alignment with ViiV’s global strategy
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to identify and manage legal risks, offering practical solutions to complex challenges
  • Lead the development and implementation of legal strategies to support ViiV’s international commercial operations
  • Manage external legal counsel, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality support for business needs
  • Deliver training and guidance to internal teams on legal and compliance matters, fostering a culture of accountability and awareness
  • Represent ViiV in external engagements, including negotiations and advocacy efforts, to advance the company’s objectives

Basic Qualifications:

We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Qualified lawyer with a recognized legal qualification (e.g., solicitor, barrister, or equivalent)
  • At least 10 years of experience in providing legal advice on European and international commercial, policy, and advocacy matters within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences sector or coming from a law firm working as a counselor for the mentioned industries
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal issues in a global, matrixed organization
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external legal counsel and deliver cost-effective solutions
  • Fluent in English, with excellent drafting and negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Knowledge of European and international regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to the global pharmaceutical industry
  • Familiarity with public policy, advocacy, or government affairs relevant to the global pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide strategic input on legal and business risks
  • Experience in delivering training and building legal awareness within organizations
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and provide clear, actionable advice in fast-paced environments

This role is hybrid, with a mix of remote and on-site work at our UK office
