Position Overview:

The Assistant Football Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Carleton College serves as a leader within the PEAR Department, dedicated to the holistic well-being and competitive success of scholar-athletes in a highly selective liberal arts environment. The role integrates coaching a position group on offence or defense, along with coordinating one of the special teams and strategic recruiting operations. Grounded in the college’s values of excellence and multiculturalism, the position also encompasses administrative collaboration with the Admissions department to support the institution's service-oriented mission

Compensation:

The expected starting salary for this position is $40,600. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Effectively coach a position group on offense or defense

  • Coordinate one of the four special teams

  • Recruiting Coordinator: oversee recruiting plan/calendar, database operations and communication, organize the recruitment of student-athletes, including on-campus and game day visits

  • Recruit and manage recruiting territory of 12 states

  • Complete all required departmental and institutional training and certification programs and participate actively in available professional development opportunities.

  • Comply with the policies, rules, and regulations set forth by the NCAA Division III and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (MIAC), Carleton College and the Athletic Department.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with game management for spring sports

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills: 

Required: 

  • BA or BS degree

  • 2 Years of college recruiting/coaching experience

  • Recruiting Database Management experience

  • Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the sport, attention to detail as well as excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to help recruit, teach and coach highly talented scholar-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Social Media and Photoshop design experience

  • Teaching Experience

Must have the ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions, operations, safety procedures, and hazardous labels.
