GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for helping to build, recruit and maintain a competitive football program on the Raymond Campus consistent with all of the goals of Hinds Community College and the policies and procedures outlined in the Athletic Department Handbook.

Education: Bachelor’s required; Master’s degree preferred
Experience: 5-7 years of competitive college coaching experience.
Certificate/License: Familiar with MACCC and NJCAA governing rules
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, not limited to the following but may include:
Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
Adhere to Hinds Community College, MACCC, and NJCAA policies and procedures
Provide game & practice film analysis with offensive/defensive and film breakdown of opponent's defensive/offensive tendencies.
Develops substitution game plan with staff and prepares daily-weekly depth chart with staff.
Coordinates offensive/defensive adjustments on sideline & halftime.
Prepares offensive/defensive scouting report with staff in season, breakdown film, fronts & stunts, blitz chart, two deep and coverages.
Submits offensive/defensive game plan finalized with offensive/defensive staff, and Head Football Coach.
Offensive/defensive bench organization and game day organization with Head Coach.
Grades position players, stats, qtr.’s played, with assistant coaches.
Coordinates the coaching staff and assists the players with academic matters with Head Football Coach, Compliance Coordinator, and Student Success Center Staff.
Reviews academic reports from academic advising office. Helps monitor academic eligibility. Contacts student athletes who need summer credits & meet with academic advisor for mid-term and final grade reports.
Keeps players and staff notified and up-to-date information of all important academic events
Recruits local area by travel, phone, mail and electronic communication.
Recruits out of state/area via travel, phone, mail and electronic communications.
Evaluates offensive/defensive film for potential recruits.
Hosts and tour prospects and parents for visits.
Compiles list of potential recruits and monitors their admissions status
Assists athletic department with annual fundraising
Assists Head Football Coach with game travel.
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or the Athletic Director

Hinds Community College Football Student-Athletes, Managers, and Athletic Training Students
