Job Description Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

The role is responsible for managing and improving financial performance and leading accounting operations, including maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational policies, managing financial risks, preparing and publishing financial statements, coordinating audits, monitoring expenditures, and forecasting revenues. The position also provides financial analysis and insights to support business planning, performance management, and income generation.

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, excellent numerical acumen, and proven leadership capability. Highly organized and detail‑oriented, the incumbent will drive continuous improvement, streamline accounting processes, strengthen financial governance, and enhance the overall efficiency and performance of the CPS Pakistan Finance team.

Specific Deliverables

  • Stakeholders' collaboration – Proactively maintain and grow partnership with Operating Unit Finance and other Functions
  • Manage End to End process of Inventory and Costing
  • Ensure Plant meets standards of internal controls as required by SPP/CAD and other regulations
  • Reporting, MIS and Financial analysis as required
  • Ensure periodical review are in place with relevant stake holder and management team

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Key member of the CPS Pakistan Finance team with the following functions:

  • Develop financial policies which ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the plant including the execution of internal controls in finance and the plant.
  • Establish the appropriate high-performance culture and work environment in finance.
  • Establish a strong working relationship with PAR Franchise Finance team
  • Management of internal controls and governance requirements, including any external tax and Special Economic Zone reporting requirements
  • Drive and deliver smooth audits (Internal/External/Statutory etc/Tax etc.)

Lead and manage all aspects of plant financial operations, including:

  • Plan for, monitor, and control budgeted costs while proactively identifying and transparently communicating the Risks and Opportunities.
  • Drive initiatives to capture Opportunities / mitigate Risks and grow productivity.
  • Lead regular routines to share financials with plant management Team and drive corrective measures where necessary
  • Ensure P&L and B/S are reflecting true picture of Operations
  • Proactively work with Platform Services to ensure transactional and financial accounting service delivery model is efficient, robust and evolves to meet business needs
  • Track and manage P&L and balance sheet

Manage Inventory and Costing

  • Primary responsibility for the management of plant inventory balances including cycle counting, processing inventory adjustments, and obsolescence monitoring.
  • Exclusive control on Material Costing and SAP related to inventory
  • Timely creation and approval of RFAs for blocked material and clearing off the same
  • Smooth closure of all audit queries related
  • Ensure accurate accounting for inventory and COGS as per policy of the company
  • Tracking and analysis of inventory variances viz PPV, MUV and suggesting corrective actions
  • Continuous collaboration with stake holder for process and compliance and efficiency
  • Spearheading the productivity culture through insightful analytics and data points
  • Analyse and track the slow/non-moving inventory and highlighting to management for timely action

Manage Internal Controls and Lead Accountability Mindset

  • Ensure internal controls are in place to protect the organization against any negative financial exposure, safeguard financial and physical assets and to meet strict Company requirements and regulations.
  • Primary responsibility for the control and governance of plant inventories including physical verification, obsolescence monitoring, and timely actions.
  • Coordinate both internal (CAD) and external audits in conjunction with CPS Center and LEC.
  • Ensure compliance with Company and CPS DOA in all aspects
  • Maintain local COA and ensure compliance to it
  • Build and sustain control savvy culture within the plant Operations
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of Balance sheet reconciliations and take prompt actions to close the overdue items
  • Review various reports and act promptly to close open issues

Financial Planning, Budgeting and Reporting

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly closing and reporting process in line with company guidelines
  • Pro-actively engage with relevant stakeholder and ensure that reporting timeline complied in full details
  • Prepare an exception report and put before the management for review and input before submission
  • Close monitoring of inventory loss and regular interaction with user function for effective control mechanism
  • Periodical circulation of PoweBI Dashboards to function and individual users
  • Preparation and submission of Annual Business Plan with comprehensive details of each line items
  • Preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly Rolling Estimates (REs)
  • To act as a Management accountant for the company/Plant

Analysis:

  • Full suite of financial accounting, financial analysis, and problem-solving skills as they relate to providing value added and timely business and financial advice on all aspects of plant financial operations.
  • Analyse and assess financial controls and reporting processes in the plants to ensure they meet Company standards; implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Analyse and interpret effectiveness of internal controls with particular reference to overheads, purchasing, costing, inventory, capital and chart of authority.
  • Analyse and assess current financial acumen existing within the plants and then develop the finance knowledge and ownership in production/operations/OE teams through on-the-job interactions and formal trainings.

Decision making:

  • Interpret company financial guidelines and how they are to be applied in the plant environment
  • Directly involved in business planning and responsible for quantifying significant issues involved in the financial plan and making recommendations to management on setting and meeting financial objectives.
  • Lead annual business plan process at plant level and ensure planning process conforms to overall CPS process.
  • As part of the management team, provide input to developing plant strategies, policies and performance targets.
  • Evaluate capital investments, inventory plans and challenge business assumptions on which investments are justified.
  • Evaluate current business developments, including financial risk/opportunities, and recommend to senior management what to reflect in rolling estimates and related business planning routines.
  • In conjunction with SPP leads, review financial implications of monthly site production plans and recommend changes, highlight issues, and review as required.

Innovation:

  • Import & Export Goods ideas within CPS and elsewhere within the company.
  • Builds better business acumen by helping to lead the roll-out of financial related trainings in the plants.
  • Coordinates Operational Excellence initiatives in Finance at the plants to implement end-to-end process improvements, including the services provided by Platform Services.
  • Works collaboratively with Finance leadership to optimize the MUV and PPV processes and leverage best-in-class practices across CPS.

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of basic accounting and tax laws/regulations
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in Finance Function
  • Ability to manage diverse and multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in dealing with ambiguous and challenging environments
  • Ability to interact with global entities and heterogeneous cultures across the system as necessary
  • Demonstrated track record of both internal and external business partnering
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with senior management
  • Supply chain finance experience & experience of working in manufacturing environment
  • Understanding SAP environment and other planning and MIS tools viz Hyperion, Power BI

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ACCA, ACMA or equivalent
  • Good Knowledge of SAP and PowerBI
