Assistant Family Store Supervisor (Casual)

Atherton Family Store | General Retail Award Level 4

Help lead a vibrant, community‑focused retail space with purpose.

Join The Salvation Army and support the daily operations of our Atherton Family Store—driving great customer experiences, smooth store operations, and strong sales that fuel life‑changing community programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and supervise day‑to‑day store operations, including stock rotation, pricing, merchandising, POS, and customer service
  • Open and close the store, including cash handling and register balancing
  • Assist the Store Manager with marketing, sales growth strategies and seamless store and café operations
  • Provide positive leadership to staff and volunteers, fostering a friendly, productive environment
  • Maintain a safe, clean, well‑presented store and report incidents or hazards promptly
  • Contribute to team meetings, support colleagues, and step confidently into acting‑manager duties when required

What You Bring

  • Availability for Saturday trading
  • Retail or customer service experience (marketing experience highly regarded)
  • Confidence with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and learning new tech
  • Physical capability for safe manual handling
  • Strong people skills, especially in volunteer‑based environments
  • Understanding of WHS requirements
  • First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • A reasonable level of fitness to meet role demands
