Assist in managing all aspects of the Engineering Department, including preventive maintenance, energy conservation, and life safety systems.
Hire, train, supervise, and motivate the engineering team; conduct performance reviews and coaching sessions.
Respond promptly and effectively to all engineering emergencies and operational needs.
Develop and maintain detailed preventive maintenance programs for the resort, villas, and associated facilities.
Establish and monitor departmental policies, procedures, and manuals.
Support the development of 5-Year Plans and annual Operating & Capital Budgets in collaboration with the Director of Engineering.
Ensure all fire and life safety systems are fully operational and staff are properly trained in emergency response protocols, including CPR.
Oversee and manage maintenance contracts, ensuring scope of work, quality standards, and cost controls are met.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all resort areas.
Monitor utility consumption and provide monthly reports on electricity, gas, steam, and water usage.
Attend and lead departmental, safety, and town hall meetings as required.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of engineering workspaces, storerooms, and equipment.
Represent the department in the absence of the Director of Engineering.
Drive a culture of safety, professionalism, and service excellence aligned with Four Seasons standards.
Qualifications:
High school graduate with at least two (2) years of college-level education in engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar or related role within the hospitality industry.
Minimum 3 years of senior supervisory or management experience in engineering.
Must hold a valid Operations Engineer license.
Strong proficiency in English (oral and written).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiar with CMMS and BMS systems.
Excellent knowledge of blueprint reading, including mechanical, electrical (HV/MV/LV), and civil/construction layouts.
Experience working in remote locations is highly preferred.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
