The Assistant Nursing Director of the Neuro Institute plays a key leadership role in advancing excellence in patient care and clinical operations across inpatient and ambulatory settings. This position partners closely with nurse managers to oversee daily operations, drive performance, and support high-quality, patient-centered care. The Assistant Nursing Director ensures that nursing and clinical practices align with the Nursing Institute’s mission, professional standards, and evidence-based philosophy, while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation, 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Supervises nurse managers, educators, clinical specialists, and staff of the inpatient and ambulatory care units. 

  • Works in collaboration with the Nursing Director regarding budget review, personnel management, monitoring productivity, and staff development. 

  • Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to nursing staff. 

  • Ensures communication, cooperation and understanding among staff and monitors adherence to Cleveland Clinic policies and procedures. 

  • Ensures departmental compliance with regulatory and Joint Commission requirements. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) 

  • Current state licensure as an Registered Nurse (RN) 

  • Four years of recent clinical experience  

  • One year of health care management experience 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Master's Degree 

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to walk to various locations throughout the foundation, normal or corrected vision and hearing, and the ability to work and function in a stressful environment.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
