We are seeking a dynamic and strategic professional to lead the Faculty Affairs (aka Academic HR) team for CCDS. The incumbent will oversee faculty recruitment, appointments, promotions, and tenure processes, while driving initiatives to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing faculty culture. The incumbent will also manage faculty-related operational matters, including space and infrastructure allocation, onboarding programs, and engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with university policies and institutional priorities.
Acting as the primary liaison between faculty, school leadership, and central administration, the role requires influencing decisions, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring timely, fair, and policy-compliant faculty processes.
Key Responsibilities but are not limited to:
Develop and implement faculty recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent such as Nanyang Assistant Professors (NAPs) to CCDS.
Collaborate with school leadership and HR teams to streamline hiring processes and ensure compliance with university policies.
Establish faculty onboarding programs to integrate new hires into the CCDS community effectively.
Oversee and supervise a team of 3 administrative staff in running the requisite daily operations of Faculty Affairs support, including providing coaching and training, where necessary.
Streamline existing workflows and implement new processes for continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
Oversee and manage faculty lifecycle processes, such as appointment, promotion, and tenure, in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
Lead the review and enhancement of the Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure (APT) framework to ensure alignment with evolving HR policies and institutional goals.
Develop initiatives that strengthen faculty retention, development, and career progression.
Drive initiatives to foster a collaborative and inclusive faculty culture within CCDS.
Strategically plan and execute the bi-annual Faculty Townhall to facilitate comprehensive updates, strategic planning, and collaborative engagement across the academic community.
Oversee and manage the allocation and optimization of faculty office spaces and research facilities across CCDS.
Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty affairs-related queries from the Associate Dean (Faculty) and other senior leadership.
Requirements:
At least a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field (e.g., Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or relevant disciplines.
Minimum 9 years of working experience in the higher education institution, with at least 3 years in managerial position.
Relevant experience in faculty affairs, academic administration, or human resources within a higher education institution is preferred.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management and engagement skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in faculty recruitment, engagement, and space planning is highly desirable.
Skilled in strategic thinking and leadership, policy development and implementation, and operational management and problem-solving.
