Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
1. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate 50+ student staff Managers, Lifeguards and Swim Instructors.
2. Oversee development of monthly in-service training for all aquatic staff, and maintain current Red Cross certifications for all Aquatics employees.
3. Certify LMU staff in lifeguarding, CPR, AED, Water Safety Instructor, and First Aid.
4. Develop, supervise, and evaluate comprehensive aquatic programming to include health and safety programs, lifeguard training and swim lessons.
5. Serve as the liaison between Campus Recreation and the pool operations and maintenance staff in Facilities Management, Division I athletic coaches and external rental groups.
6. Work with internal Facilities Management staff and external vendors to maintain all pool and aquatic program equipment and initiate repair or replacement as needed.
7. Establish Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) related to inclement weather, medical emergencies, facility incidents, etc.
8. Ensure compliance with state and county codes and facility operation regulations.
9. Manage aquatic department budget and initiate revenue generation strategies to ensure that financial projections are met or exceeded.
10. Communicate expectations, policies, and guidelines of appropriate use of facilities to Burns Recreation Center members. Provide recommendations for improvements and feedback on policies as needed.
11. Serve on university, divisional, and department committees as assigned by the Associate Director.
12. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Staff RegularSalary range
$71,100.00 - $88,900.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.Please note that this position may not be eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
