Position Summary

On behalf of business operations, this role manages the successful planning, implementation, and support of research systems operations in partnership with WUIT. Functions as the primary liaison between business operations and IT. This position provides analysis, planning, organization, communication and management to support the design, implementation and on-going operational support of research applications. The incumbent maintains a detailed knowledge of how departmental and related university systems operate ensuring the ongoing integrity of data housed in the systems. This is a hybrid position.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads the functional workgroup for OVCR systems. Cultivates relationships within the cross functional business teams and maintains strong knowledge of research administration applications including the Research Management Application (RMS) and keybusiness functions in order to serve as an expert partner, analyst, and advisor. Oversees the end-to-end business, IT and vendor resource support and project activities. Manages all system priorities and builds consensus on the priorities across the business units.
  • Tracks and manages status for projects and resolutions to inform and drive quality completion of projects in portfolio and provide business and vendor workload metrics.
  • Oversees, and coordinates between IT and the business, upgrades, major implementations, and enhancements, along with assessing new features in vendor releases.
  • Leverages analytical skills and expert understanding of the applications to define and solve complex business problems through technology, working with vendors, and IT to implement solutions.
  • Manages the strategic planning process to develop system roadmaps and coordinates with business operations and data management leaders across the organization to optimize the system and service.
  • Creates and documents moderately complex test scenarios to verify application functionality, test all changes and monitor proactively after deployment to ensure all delivered solutions are implemented successfully.
  • Serve as a member of the systems’ leadership team, as the technology expert in this role.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$75,200.00 - $128,800.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
