Operations & Maintenance Oversight
Leads and manages the Airport Operations and Maintenance Team; Ensure compliance with FAR Part 139, including:
o Maintaining and updating Part 139 required manuals. (ACM, SICP, AEP, WHMP)
o Conducting regular airfield inspections and coordinating necessary maintenance.
o Overseeing airfield maintenance and construction.
o Overseeing building and grounds maintenance and construction.
o Managing all of airport’s vehicle and equipment maintenance programs.
Implements and monitors the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan; Maintains and enhances airport security infrastructure; Monitors and responds to airspace protection measures; Supervises employee training program: Part 139 and Campus required programs for airfield staff; Coordinates with FAA during annual airport certification inspections; Evaluates and selects federal and state surplus vehicles and equipment as authorized by FAA; Leads emergency response efforts for aircraft incidents/accidents; Directs snow removal operations, runway closures, inspections, NOTAM issuance, and crowd/media control; Manages airport firefighting operations, training, and fire safety equipment; Enforces Airport Rules and Regulations; Assists other Airport Units with their goals and operations; Coordinates with campus departments for maintenance (FOD), communications (OTDI), SWPPP / SCCP plans; Coordinates FCC licensing for UNICOM and Company radio repeaters; Oversees the airport UAS program. Maintain equipment, trains staff, and Certificate of Authorization with FAA.
Capital Improvement & Grant Management
Lead Airport Capital Improvement Projects, including: o Contract development and administration:
o Plan reviews and project oversight.
o Grant management to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
o Communicate and coordinate with FAA ADO and State on grant matters.
Collaborate with the Airport Director to update Airport Capital Improvement Plans; Prepares and submit grant applications; Completes quarterly and annual progress reports; Finalize project closeout documentation.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support airport operations, development, and strategic goals; Participates on Airport Leadership Team; Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Aviation, or a related field of study or equivalent education and experience.
• 7 years’ experience in Airport Operations Management.
• Demonstrate expertise in airfield management and airport operations.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and airport certification requirements.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and meet regulatory deadlines.
• AAE Basic ASOS Training Certificate
• Valid Driver’s License Desired Qualifications
• Master’s degree in business administration, Aviation, or a related field of study.
• Experience in public administration and/or academia including working at the public-private sector interface.
• Strong business and financial acumen and insight.
• FAA private pilot certification.
• Valid CDL.
• Professional Engineer Licensure AAE C.M.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $103,000- $134,500. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
