Assistant Director, Admissions and Recruitment, Graduate Business Programs

The Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment will support the College of Business Administration (CBA) graduate business programs recruitment and admissions process. This position will be responsible for recruitment activities and services targeting graduate students to the CBA with the goal to increase quality and quantity of students enrolled in graduate business programs (for example: MBA, MSM, MSBA, MSESI etc.).

Position Specific Responsibilities

  • Execute the student recruitment strategy developed by the leadership for graduate business programs. This includes developing on- and off-campus recruitment events (open houses, graduate school fairs, information sessions, etc.) and planning a schedule that ensures coverage of all important events as well as day-to-day admission office operations.

  • Support the admissions process by communicating with prospective students via e-mail, phone, Zoom, and in person to ensure a positive and seamless experience.  Ensure that e-mail communications are copied into the prospective student database (currently Slate) and that notes are entered for in-person or phone/Zoom communications with the student.

  • As needed, collaborate with LMU Graduate Admissions/Enrollment Management to analyze data collected by both offices and stored in Slate to improve the recruitment process. Run queries and reports from Slate to track applicants and prospects as they move through the admission funnel.

  • Responsible for all aspects of recruiting events such as information sessions/webinars.  Develop on-going process to ensure such events are effective in attracting prospective and targeted applicants to the LMU CBA Graduate Business Programs.  Coordinate these activities with other offices at LMU, including the office of Graduate Admissions and the Career and Professional Development (CPD) team. Oversee frequency and scheduling, promotion and communication of events. Ensure that venues are secured, catering is ordered and the event is properly staffed.  Analyze the demographic data for the prospects that reserved spots and those who attended each session. 

  • Responsible for off-campus recruiting events (local corporate ed fairs, and out of the area graduate student recruiting forums) to ensure that the LMU CBA Graduate Programs are represented at as many appropriate events as possible to generate a large applicant pool.  

  • In collaboration with LMU Marketing & Communications, develop the recruiting communications flow and process, including e-mail campaigns and website information. In partnership with Marketing & Communications analyze data to determine the effectiveness of social media and analyze other tools and products. Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to design and produce all promotional materials and logo items used in the recruitment process. 

  • Interview candidates who have submitted applications for admission and submit interview summaries for review by the admission committee. Follow up with candidates post-admission to encourage enrollment.  

  • Establish and maintain local industry connections for program promotion; represent LMU within the business community and at professional organizations or associations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Typically a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree in business or counseling extremely helpful. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.

  • Minimum two years’ experience in an academic program office. Experience in graduate or undergraduate admissions at a not-for-profit university strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of:  recruiting, marketing, social media, higher education curriculum, course sequences and requirements, course offerings, admissions requirements, graduation requirements, university resources and facilities. Familiarity with academic processes and procedures, Registrar office, and Financial Aid office.

  • Ability to multi-task, plan, organize and execute day-to-day operation; work under deadlines and maintain a detail-oriented approach to each task; ability to prioritize and delegate the flow of work on a daily basis; ability to write and edit, prepare memos and minutes, type reports and other documents efficiently. 

  • Highly developed organizational and customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) and other campus databases.

  • Maintain highly effective working relationships with key faculty, academic personnel, Events Scheduling Office, Aramark Catering Services, Campus Graphics, Bookstore, and all off-campus vendors.

Salary range

$71,100.00 - $88,900.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
