Job Title: Assistant Department Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt
General Function
Assists in managing overall daily warehouse operations and directs labor. Responsible for maintaining equipment and the cleanliness of the facility.

Reporting Relations
Accountable and Reports to: Warehouse Manager; Department Manager
Positions that Report to you: Department Personnel
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise and direct the work of all employees. Organize and plan labor usage for efficiency and cost control.
- Maintain in-house quality control including cleaning, mishandling of equipment and merchandise.
- Communicates with supervisors labor needs, receiving, storage, rotation, and shipping issues.
- Responds to questions and issues from employees.
- Attends and participates in meetings.
- Maintain employee records and document employee interactions
Secondary Responsibilities
- Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
- Train new employees.
- Completes employee performance reviews and participates in productivity reviews.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Responsible for instructing, assigning work, reviewing work, planning work of others, maintaining standards, coordinating activities, allocating personnel, acting on employee problems.
- Has authority to recommend employee disciplinary and discharge actions.
Education and Experience
High school graduate or equivalent preferred. 6 months to 1 year similar or related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force repeatedly; exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
- Must be able to be on feet (standing and walking) for 6-8 hours a day.
- Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Must pass post offer pre-employment fitness test, hearing, and drug screen.
Working Conditions:
- The duties of this position are performed mostly in the production area which is wet and refrigerated (@38 degrees).
- Work around loud equipment.
- Frequent deadlines exist while handling multiple tasks.
- Daily contact with employees, technicians and salespersons.
- Ability to climb, bend, lift and work in areas of limited mobility.
