Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Coordinator, Outreach - Davie, FL.
The Assistant Coordinator, Outreach provides essential support to the School of Environmental, Coastal, and Ocean Sustainability (ECOS) by overseeing event coordination, conference travel arrangements, and exhibitor logistics. The position manages communications with internal and external partners, develops promotional materials, collaborates with the College of Science Communications and Marketing team, and supports reporting efforts related to ECOS events and outreach initiatives.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Coordinate events for the ECOS community, including making space reservations, placing food orders, and sending out notifications and invitations
Plan and execute logistics at conferences by creating and confirming travel and lodging plans, registering participants, and assisting with table setup and breakdown as needed
Travel to conferences, both in- and out-of-state, to assist with exhibitor setup and breakdown, staffing ECOS exhibitor booths as needed, and acting as a point of contact for ECOS at events
Generate, organize, and distribute ECOS promotional materials
Manage external communications with ECOS partners, including FAU departments and external stakeholders, through written and verbal channels, creating social media posts, and writing newsletters.
Assist with required reporting by collecting and summarizing data from events, programming, and community outreach initiatives.
Work with the College of Science’s Communication, Marketing, and External Relations team to generate promotional material and provide oversight for ECOS website messaging.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
